This natural coloured stole is a true masterpiece. Made of pure pashmina – the finest grade of cashmere wool, its fibre is hand spun and handwoven in Kashmir. Its superfine texture is a result of a traditional twill weaving method from Kashmir locally called Kani weave. The craft is believed to be indigenous to Kashmir.
Kanis are the wooden sticks used as spools by the artisan to weave the wonders, colloquially known as Jamawar or Kani stoles. These stoles are so prestigious to wear that they are considered to be an heirloom in several families.
The entire stole is decorated with blossoming flowers. We call it the Gulaab (Rose) Kani Stole. Some miniature painting and portraits show the Emperor Akbar wearing robes and gowns made of kani embroidered pashmina. And so any kaani woven garment is considered royal and imperial. It is sure to add a touch of elegance and royalty to your style.
This exclusive stole bears the signature of the artisan.
